Celebrating 70

Today is my Dad's birthday. He's 70!
You know, it sounds old to me, but I know it's not.
Is 70 the new 50?

We celebrated by going out to brunch at Houlihan's. There were 12 of us. My niece and husband weren't able to make it but it still was a nice group to celebrate.

After brunch we came back to my house so my dad could open his presents. We were suppose to have cake and ice cream, but most of us were too full from brunch to eat again. We did sing cause how can you celebrate a birthday and not sing? Needless to say, there is a lot of cake left over. Want some?

Then it was time to play Apples to Apples. Have you ever played? All of us in our family love the game. Fun, fun, fun!

A great time was had by all.

Down on the Farm

Breakfast food is my favorite!
I can eat it in the morning, at noon or for dinner.
It doesn't matter.

I love me some breakfast.

This morning my daughter and I are meeting my good friend
Susan and her daughter for breakfast at
Bob Evans.

All Alone

I recently made a post on facebook wondering if I was the only one who doesn't mind going alone to see a movie. A cousin of mine said she would never do it - the others said they would.

It's not that I want to go by myself; it's just that I really don't mind going by myself. It might be a situation where no one else can go when I can or maybe no one wants to see the same flick that I do.

Last weekend I went to see JUST GO WITH IT at 9:30am. I know, I know; that is kinda early. No one else in my house was awake yet and I was already done reading the newspaper and looking through the sale ads. Why not go? So I did. The best thing too, is that any movie before noon at the theater I prefer is only $2.50. Yep, $2.50. Oh, that's not all...a small popcorn is only $1.25 and a medium drink is only $1.25. So for a mere $5.00 I had myself a nice little morning.

How about you? Would you go by yourself to see a movie?

I'm thinking a Sunday morning tradition may be in the works for me!!

Tonight, I'm talking Olivia to see the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater.

Here's a link to learn about it if you've never heard of it.

A girls night out.
I can't wait.

Never Say Never

My daughter LOVES (understatement)
Justin Bieber.

We went to his concert last Summer and had a blast. There's nothing like seeing delight and excitement through the eyes of a child.

Today is the opening of his new movie called NEVER SAY NEVER in 3D. I bought advance tickets to take my daughter and one of her friends. They are super excited. I am actually looking forward to seeing the movie too. I think since I handled the concert with thousands and thousands of screaming fans I can handle a movie theatre with about 300 girls tonight.
Happy Weekend!

Winter Blues

Ok, it's official...I have the winter blues. Oh gosh how I long for warmer weather.

I'm not a hot and humid kinda girl, but give me 80ish degrees with sunshine and some water close by to dip my feet and I'm good to go.

I'm a bit jealous and envious of my mom, her husband and 11 other family members. They leave on Saturday for a 2 week trip to Freeport, Bahamas. They have time shares and go at this time every year. Unfortunately, the economy has put a damper on me going the past few years. I dream about the day I get to go back. There's just something about a winter tropical vacation that lifts the spirit.

How about you? Are you a Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall kinda person?

Well, it's official.
They are calling our latest weather conditions, the Blizzard of 2011. Pretty much EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING in our city and surrounding cities are closed.
All Schools and most businesses are closed. As a matter of fact, our city is under a "snow emergency" which means all non-emergency traffic is prohibited. Honestly, why in the world would anyone want to even get out in this mess. Yuk.
My whole family is home today. I doubt we'll get dressed. There's simply no need to. We plan to play board games, do some baking, watch movies, and who knows what other kind of entertainment we will come across.
If you are under extreme weather conditions, I hope you stay warm and safe. What kind of plans do you have to pass the time?
